Definition:
AJI-151 is food grade Iota carraggenan (Processed eucheuma seaweed), obtained by aqueous alkaline treatment of the natural strains of seaweeds Eucheuma spinosum, of the class Rhodophyceae (red seaweeds) to remove impurities and by fresh water washing and drying to obtain the product.  It meets  FCC, EU(E407a) and JECFA specification for PES, It can be marked as E407a.

Moisture                                         : Not more than 12% (105°C, 4 hrs).

Milk Gel Strength                          : Not less than 5g /cm2 (1.5% , 10°C). 

pH                                                   : 8.5-10.5 (1.5% solution @ approximately 75°C)

Viscosity                                        : Not less than 5 cps (1.5% solutions @ 75°C)

Total Ash                                        : Not more than 25%
